Today, we celebrate the Independence Day of Niger.
Niger, a landlocked democracy between Sahara and Sub-Saharan Africa, is home to the Aïr and Ténéré National Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and at 64,560 km² the second largest nature reserve in Africa, and the fourth largest in the world.
The Niger economy, traditionally based on agrarian and mineral exports, has grown rapidly in recent years (5.9% GDP growth pre-COVID).
